In this mixed-up musical comedy featuring one of the most lovable creatures in the history of German children’s literature, Professor Habakuk Tibatong teaches animals to speak on the island of Titiwu. Then something unexpected happens: A huge iceberg washes up on the beach. On it sits an egg. The professor and his animals incubate it, and out hatches…an urmel. What a sensation!
The play is based on the story by Max Kruse. Enriched with the loveliest moments from the storybook and presented with expressive puppets on a circular stage, set to catchy music, and featuring participatory elements, the performance is a gesamtkunstwerk that’s fun for the whole family.
