Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonata for Piano, Four Hands in D Major, KV 381
Franz Schubert: Fantasie in F Minor
Fazil Say: “Night” for piano, four hands, op. 68
Igor Stravinsky: “Le Sacre du Printemps” for two pianos
Piano: Lucas Jussen, Arthur Jussen
The brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen have been under contract with Deutsche Grammophon since 2010. Their debut CD, featuring works by Ludwig van Beethoven, earned platinum status. In Leverkusen, they will show their skill performing works for four hands, on one and two pianos. The highlight will certainly be Igor Stravinsky’s “Sacre du Printemps,” to be played on two pianos in Wuppertal. But “Night” will also bring surprises; Fazil Say (who will perform on our program on November 11, 2019, although only in Wuppertal) wrote the piece for them. The Jussens are great fans of the Turkish composer and pianist, and they play the piece at nearly every concert. The brothers’ Instagram account (lucas_arthurjussen) is not to be missed. Social media lets their audience accompany them on concert tours and experience the drama behind the scenes.
