A new, three-part evening of dance with the Italian company Aterballetto, influenced in no small way by the hand of our stARTist Philippe Kratz. For his nearly 30-minute work titled “cloud|materia,” Kratz engaged with the ideas from weaver and writer Anni Albers – one of the few female workshop leaders at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau. Philippe Kratz found ideas in her essays that agree with his understanding of dance and movement. – In addition to the work from Kratz, a 20-minute piece by the Japanese choreographer Rihoko Sato, muse to the renowned choreographer and her fellow countryman Saburo Teshigawara, will be presented. The working title is “Traces,” and it is her first choreographic work for Aterballetto. – “Secus,” a work created by Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin in 2005 for his internationally acclaimed Batsheva Dance Company, rounds out the evening. Ohad Naharin is among the most important protagonists of contemporary choreography and receives invitations from around the world to produce and direct performances of his works by renowned companies.

This evening is a co-production of Oriente Occidente Festival – Rovereto (Italy), Les Halles de Schaerbeek – Brussels (Belgium) und Espace Malraux Scène Nationale de Chambéry et de la
Savoie (France).
