General terms and conditions
By ordering or buying tickets or automatically renewing your subscription, you agree to the following general terms and conditions. Your personal data are automatically collected, processed and used in accordance with data protection law and only to the extent required to implement the agreement. Bayer Arts & Culture reserves the right to change the program, dates and artists.
In accordance with §312b Paragraph 3 No. 6 of the German Civil Code (BGB), the regulations on distance selling agreements do not apply for agreements on leisure services. Consequently, there is no two-week right of cancellation for the purchase of tickets.
From the 2017/18 season we are offering a range of different types of subscription:
This is equivalent to the old subscription and is available for series of 4, 5 or 6 events. You are allocated your usual seat and the subscription is automatically extended unless it is canceled.
Theater subscription 4 out of 9
The classical and modern theater series have been combined. As a theater subscriber, you can now select four out the nine performances in the Theater and Clowning Around series for your subscription. The subscription is automatically extended unless it is canceled.
Flexi-subscription for 4, 5 or 6 events
Our flexi-subscription enables you to put together your personal subscription out of our full range of events. It gives you access to the best seats in the relevant price category, subject to availability. The flexi-subscription is automatically extended unless it is canceled. Please use the attached flexi-subscription (“Flexi-Abo”) order form to order tickets.
For just €300 you receive the right to attend all events in our program if you show your KultCard Gold and an identity card. The KultCard Gold is valid for the 2017/18 season. It is personal and non-transferable. If you have not reserved in advance, you will be allocated the best available seats, subject to availability.
KultCard for young people
The KultCard, which costs €25, is available exclusively to young people up to the age of 18 and comprises 10 vouchers which the holder may exchange for one ticket each to events of his or her choice from the 2017/18 program. The KultCard is personal and non-transferable.
New subscriptions can be ordered using the order forms in the magazine or by email. They are processed on a first come, first served basis and seats are allocated according to availability. If there are no seats available in your preferred price group we will, with your permission, assign you seats in the next possible price group. Please indicate whether you wish to use this option in your email or on the order form. New orders for subscriptions and cancellation of existing subscriptions must reach us by June 30, 2017. Vouchers for subscription holders: All holders of Bayer Arts & Culture standard and theater subscriptions will receive a voucher entitling them to purchase one ticket to an event outside their own series at a price of €10. Vouchers will be sent with the invoice for the subscription and are valid for the current season only (exception: events in the Trailblazer series and events organized by third parties).
Replacement subscription cards
If you lose your subscription card, we will issue you with a replacement at a cost of €2.50 per card
Individual tickets can be purchased as follows:
- Via our website: culture.bayer.com. Here you can order tickets and pay for them. You can choose whether to have the tickets sent to you at a small charge or to reserve them for collection from our ticket office within 14 days.
- By email at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Using the order form for individual tickets in the prospectus.
- By phone at 0214 30-41283/-41284.
- Personally from the ticket office in the Erholungshaus.
Orders for individual tickets will be processed at the start of the season in the order in which they are received - but after allocation of subscription tickets. Individual tickets can also be purchased from all KölnTicket advance ticket sales offices at derticketservice.de.
Ticket orders placed via www.culture.bayer.com or by phone or email are binding. If you choose to pay on receipt of your invoice, you must settle the invoice immediately on receipt. We charge a fee of €1 for processing invoices and sending admission tickets. You bear the shipping risk from the point where Bayer Arts & Culture dispatches the tickets. If you do not receive the tickets, you must notify the ticket office within seven days.
Reserved tickets can be collected from the ticket office during opening hours (Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Any collection dates specified by us when placing orders online via our website are subject to the ability to deliver the order as specified.
Reservation of title
Admission tickets remain the property of Bayer Arts & Culture until payment is received.
Admission tickets are sold exclusively to end-consumers. Commercial resale of tickets is only permitted with the explicit consent of Bayer Arts & Culture.
Trainees and schoolchildren aged 18 to 26 can obtain tickets for all events outside the young people's program for €5. Students, young people performing voluntary military service or community service (up to age 27), disabled persons (at least 60% disability) and “Leverkusen für alle” pass holders are generally entitled to a reduction of 50% on individual tickets. Proof of entitlement must be presented at the door.
Exchanging / returning tickets
Individual tickets and subscription cards can only be returned in exchange for vouchers. We charge a processing fee of €1.50. Tickets can only be exchanged up to 45 minutes before the event begins. Tickets can only be returned to Bayer Arts & Culture if the event is canceled. In this case, tickets can be returned up to four weeks after the date of the event. Tickets purchased using a voucher may not be returned.
The family ticket, costing €20, is valid for four people (max. two adults) attending an event from the children's program. At children's events in the Studio, the first four rows are to be left free for children.
Prices, change of prices and shipping costs
All prices include VAT where applicable.
We reserve the right to alter prices.
Shipping costs: For orders with payment on receipt of an invoice or delivery of tickets by post, we charge a fee of €1 per ticket.
If you order tickets, you can choose to pay by direct debt from your bank account, with an EC or credit card or in cash. If you grant us a direct debit authorization, we will send you your tickets with your invoice. If you do not grant us a direct debit authorization, you will receive an invoice / confirmation of reservation. Your tickets will be dispatched when payment is received. Alternatively, tickets can be collected from the ticket office in return for payment in cash or by EC/credit card.
Buying tickets online
If you purchase tickets online, your order will be processed as soon as it is placed. Acceptance of the order constitutes an agreement on processing the order. Bayer Arts & Culture delivers the tickets purchased by mail or collection from the ticket office (max. 14 days), at your choice. There is no option to print out tickets yourself (print@home) if you purchase tickets via www.culture.bayer.com.

Please note that for security reasons we cannot accept and process written orders (e.g. by email or letter) that contain your full credit card details.
Coats, umbrellas, large bags and similar items may not be taken into the auditorium and must be left in the cloakroom. This service is included in the admission price. Visitors will receive a cloakroom tag. Valuables cannot be accepted. Staff are authorized to hand over items on presentation of the tag, without checking whether the person presenting the tag is authorized to collect the items. Bayer is only liable for loss or damage to items left in the cloakroom if the cloakroom staff have failed in their duty deliberately or through gross negligence. Claims resulting from loss or damage to items are limited to €1,500.00. Claims for compensation for loss of items in coats, bags, etc. are limited to a maximum of €100.00. The cloakroom staff must be informed immediately of any damage or loss of items and claims must also be submitted in writing within 14 days from the event. Claims submitted later than this cannot be accepted.
A valid ticket is required for events. Order confirmation or an invoice is not sufficient, unless a different arrangement has explicitly been made with Bayer Arts & Culture.
On request, the leaflet with up-to-date information on upcoming events will be sent to you free of charge every two months. Changes to dates and programs and any additional events are announced in the leaflet and at www.culture.bayer.com. Last-minute changes are published in the daily press and on our website at www.culture.bayer.com. Customers will only receive written notification in exceptional circumstances.
There are very few parking spaces in the vicinity of the Erholungshaus. Please use the Kaufhof or Deutsche Bank/P&C multistorey car parks. The entrance to both is on Wöhlerstrasse. An evening tariff of €2.50 applies in both car parks as from 7 p.m. It is not possible to pay in advance. The Forum underground car park is in the building itself. Here, the theater tariff (red button) of €2.50 applies as from 6 p.m.
Pre-ordering a taxi
In the Erholungshaus, it is possible to order a taxi home before the event starts or during the interval.
Admission ticket = VRS/VRR public transport ticket
This season too, your subscription card or admission ticket entitles you to travel on public transport with the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS) or Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR – for events in Wuppertal). as from four hours before the event starts. The return journey must be completed by the time services end for the night (3 a.m. on the following day).
At the box office, it is only possible collect pre-ordered tickets or purchase tickets for the event about to begin. It is not possible to obtain information on, or purchase tickets for, future events.
Once an event has begun, there is no right to the seat printed on the ticket. Late admission can only be granted during an interval/applause.
Gift vouchers for any amount can be purchased by phone, in writing or personally from the Bayer Arts & Culture ticket office.
Photography, video and audio recordings
Photography with or without flash and all types of audio and video recording are forbidden during concerts, theater performances and other events. Please make sure you switch off your cell phone and the alarm function on digital watches, etc.
