The Marching Band
At present, the Marching Band has 47 active members. They mainly appear at traditional “Schützenfest” and village fairs. They also provide music for the Leverkusen Carnival Committee and the Carnival Prince at around 80 events every year, ensuring a lively party. The band is very keen on promoting its new membership, which is why it offers young people extensive musical tuition on instruments such as flute or drum, and encourages them to come to rehearsals from an early stage.

History

The Marching Band was established in 1959. Dirk Laufenberg has been the Chairman since 1996. That same year his brother, a member of the Marching Band since he was 14, took over the musical directorship.
