Reiner Calmund, former general manager of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, is one of the highest-profile pundits at all levels and in all the media. With his commitment, common sense, expertise and passion he has succeeded in becoming not just one of the most influential men in German football, but also a favourite with fans of all allegiances and a larger-than-life figurehead of those he himself describes as the “positively mad”.
