History
Initially the Association was a pure wind orchestra, known as the "Bayer Orchestra Wuppertal". Only in 1975 was it renamed as the "Bayer Wuppertal Orchestral Association". Over the years, the wind orchestra was joined first by the dance orchestra and finally, in 1985 by the accordion orchestra. Since 1996 the musical director of both ensembles has been the music teacher Manuela Leven. Nils Powilleit, also a music teacher, has been responsible for the wind orchestra since 2004.
