Much travelled: the Bayer Leverkusen Male Voice Choir
With 114 singers active at present, the male voice choir, founded in 1904, is one of the world’s largest. Its repertoire is extensive and varied and aims for a high standard. It includes folk songs, Romantic choral works, ancient music, opera choruses, church music, arrangements of popular music, contemporary and experimental original works.

History
Ulrich Jung has been in charge of the over 100-year-old choir since 1994. He is a distinguished choirmaster and orchestra teacher with a special interest in unearthing works that are seldom performed. He has won several awards in national and international choral competitions and is now himself an adjudicator. In 1992 his professional organization awarded him the title of musical director. He also passes on the fruits of his lengthy experience at seminars and courses run by the North Rhine-Westphalian State Music Academy.

Something special

The Bayer Male Voice Choir is a welcome guest all over the world. It has been invited to sing on Red Square in Moscow, in front of the City Hall in Antwerp and at Notre Dame in Paris. A highlight of its career was its American tour, where the choir played to packed houses in New York, Pittsburgh and Toronto.
