The cultural involvement of Bayer employees in Leverkusen has a tradition stretching back more than 100 years. Today the work of the various clubs and societies is extremely diverse – and music plays a particularly important role.

Supporting the clubs and ensembles is an important aspect of Bayer's social involvement in Leverkusen. Of the eight cultural associations there, the Bayer Philharmonic Orchestra, the Male Voice Choir and the Bayer Wind Orchestra have histories spanning more than a century. Concerts by the Leverkusen ensembles are an established part of the town's cultural life. Thanks to numerous concert tours, the Leverkusen orchestras and choirs are known far beyond Germany's borders.
